Welcome to the Public Engagement Page for the Bus Stop Accessibility Study
Public Survey
Project Information
The Bus Stop Accessibility Study originated in 2013 and was updated in 2018 to highlight changes or improvements made to bus stops. The previous study and update identified bus stops with high levels of activity and specific infrastructure and site enhancements. The recommendations align with the 1990 Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act. This review examines the previously identified stops and site improvements, system-wide updates, and identifies new or ongoing needs for enhancements.
The 2025 Bus Stop Accessibility Study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the improvements made to the Valley Metro system, including highlighting the new transit center, routes, and changes to bus stops since the 2018 review. There will be public engagement, including focus groups and a general public survey, to help guide the process, along with ridership data to prioritize bus stops requiring enhancements.
Project Goals
- Review and update existing data for bus stops.
- Develop ridership reports from the data gathered by the onboard Automatic Passenger Counters.
- Have meaningful public engagement through surveys with focus groups and the general public.
- Develop a list of priority bus stops to be improved.
