The Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission (RVARC) brings together local governments and other organizations to promote discussion and actions on issues critical to economic growth, quality of life, and sustainability of the region. As one of Virginia’s 21 Planning District Commissions and home to the Roanoke Valley Transportation Planning Organization (RVTPO), the Commission convenes diverse localities to address shared challenges.
We serve the governments, businesses and citizens of Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin and Roanoke counties; the cities of Covington, Roanoke, and Salem; and the towns of Clifton Forge, Rocky Mount and Vinton. Learn more about us at rvarc.org.
