Project Overview
Overview
Working with the Economic Development Research Group, the Roanoke Valley Alleghany Regional Commission initiated a study in 2017 designed to foster consensus around transportation priorities that would advance the region’s economic development objectives. This work culminated in the 2018 Transportation Project Prioritization for Economic Development & Growth or TED Study.
In 2021, the RVARC published an update to the 2018 study which documented the status of projects included in the 2018 study The update also included results from a 2020 stakeholder survey that asked respondents to identify problems/needs that impact economic development. Ultimately, the streamlined 2021 update included a list of highway construction and greenway projects that would be used to provide input to the Roanoke Valley Transportation Plan. Finally, the 2021 update called for improved coordination between economic development and transportation planning stakeholders.
Vision & Goals Recap

Goals and Performance Measures Survey

Vision and Goals Survey
RVTPO staff encourage TTC members to provide constructive feedback and suggestions on the TED Study Visions and Goals. Upon receiving feedback, RVTPO/RVARC staff will commence drafting of the project prioritization which will then be presented at the April TTC meeting.
This collaborative process/approach will facilitate the development of a well-informed and effective project prioritization and align with the region's transportation and economic goals. TTC members will have access to the project prioritization process, ensuring transparency and a comprehensive understanding of the projects deemed most impactful for the region.
The survey is now closed. Thank you for your responses!
